Clare & Paul tie the knot in vintage style

Clare and Pauls wedding was held on 7th May at the Anglican Church in Collector.  The wedding was a week after the Collector Pumpkin festival which is actually when the rehearsal was held - it was quite surreal attending a wedding rehearsal at a church in a field of pumpkin-headed scarecrows!

Clare and her bridesmaids, sister Kate and cousin Ellie got ready at the beautiful Hyatt Hotel in town.  The bride wore a beautiful vintage skirt and gorgeous corset and looked AMAZING (as you'll see below!) - quite a strong likeness to Grace Kelly!

The ceremony was really lovely and included lots of personal touches, and afterwards we headed to a friends farm to make the most of the regions most gorgeous backdrops.  I live around this particular region and honestly, I could shoot here everyday! it's SO beautiful.

The reception was at Lake George Winery, a stunning spot and also a very warm and welcoming place to arrive to - by the time the sun had dropped it was certainly a bit chilly!

Portrait 6 Heather - Classic Beauty

Heather is an amazing local makeup artist whom I met through a mutual friend (also a makeup artist).  Since meeting, we've worked together on a few jobs and I've come to know her as a truly beautiful individual, gentle natured, generous and very talented.   Classic beauty isn't just skin deep.

The makeup that Heather produces is definitely a reflection of herself; timeless, classic, beautiful.  The natural joy she finds in makeup is what attracts her to her role as a makeup artist, giving people the confidence to explore makeup and showing them how much fun it can really be.

You'll see a bit more of Heathers work on this blog in the next week or so as we're working together on a beautiful shoot this weekend.  This portrait was done for Heathers makeup business but I wanted to include it in my Portrait series, so here it is!

Canberra Baby Photographer - Blue eyed boys!

I'm going to let the pics do the talking for these two, such a gorgeous pair - bound to be future heart breakers with those eyes! Joshua is 2 1/2 months and Jacob is 21 months! GORGEOUS!!

Portrait 5: Ed - Artist

The fifth portrait in my Personal Portrait Project is of Ed, a local Photomedia Artist.  I've known Ed for several years, having met through PhotoAccess where Ed works.

I've always been struck by Eds natural charisma.  An incredibly talented person, Ed is also extremely generous with his knowledge.  The list of people that Ed has shared his knowledge of photography with and inspired through his work would be an immense one.  I feel very privileged to have been able to photograph Ed with his friend Kevin le Chien - not only as he's such a great subject, but as it's not long before Ed heads off overseas to live.

The portrait we created aims to portray Ed as I know him, a beautiful artistic soul, who has sparked inspiration for the art of photography in countless people.  I think there's a beautiful balance between strength and vulnerability in this portrait.

Thanks Ed, from all whom know you and have gained so much from the experiences we've shared with you, Germany is lucky to be getting you and is sure to find you as inspiring as we all have in Australia.
